The Department of Speech Therapy at Spandan hospital is a specialized department that deals with the evaluation, examination, and management of a range of communication dysfunctions and swallowing disorders presenting in adults and children. We intend to provide high quality, functional, and comprehensive therapy services for both outpatients and inpatients. These include concerns that arise in any of the following areas:

  • Language, Speech, Voice
  • Struggle with the production and/or pronunciation of sounds.
  • Difficulty in learning or using spoken or written messages.
  • Stuttering
  • Swallowing
  • Difficulties in chewing/swallowing solids or liquids.
  • Speech and language troubles associated with a hearing impairment.

Speech therapy plays a vital role in the treatment of children with a developmental disability.

About one-third of Autistic children are unable to communicate effectively with others because of poorly developed speech. For these children, speech therapy not only benefits their speech but helps in improving the overall communication of the child.
