REPORT ON CELEBRATION OF ANNUAL DAY – LITTLE WONDERS – VIII ON 1ST MAY, 2010 AT S.P.R.J.K. Vidyalaya, 5th Floor, A.C. Hall, Cama Lane, Ghatkopar (W), Mumbai – 400 086
Organised by M.B. Barvalia Foundation’s Holistic Child Care Centre & Special School
On the auspicious Maharashtra day, Barvalia Foundation’s Spandan Institute and Holistic Child Care Centre organized their Annual Day celebration. Cultural, colourful event demonstrated artistic talent hidden in our gifted children. Vibrant environment graced by dignitaries like Mr. Govind Pratap Titar, Deputy Director (Hom.) Maharashtra, Mr.Manoj DAisari, Eminent Architect, Mr.B.Y. Sankhe, Assistant Advisor-Social Welfare, Mumbai Suburb, Mr. James Goes, CEO, Project Crayons. Shri. Sudheendra Kulkarni, Trustee and guide of the organization was President of the function. After the auspicious lighting of the lamp, serine prayers by the children and teachers started ball rolling. Rhythmic dancing of the Autistic children, melodious singing of special children and eye-catching performances of Junior Group filled everybody’s heart.
Audience was totally overwhelmed when mixed group of Slow Learners and Autistic Children played the beautiful roles of Radha, Krishna and Gopis with sweet song, Achyutam Keshvam Krishna Damodaram. Teachers, parents, volunteers, doctors, therapists everyone actively participated. S.P.R.J.K. Kanyashala Hall was over crowded.
Felicitation of brilliant children was one more great highlight of the function. Spandan has rehabilitated number of children in main stream. Outstanding achievements of the Special Children were eye-catching.
Master Kripakar Mani : Student who was rejected from various mainstream schools, because he was Slow Learner and suffered from hyperactivity. Thanks to Homoeopathy and Multidisciplinary inputs which were given consistently and rigorously by Foundation’s entire team as well as mother’s dedication. Today Kripakar has not only finished XII but also completed course in Vocational Automobile and Computers. He is already working as Data Entry Operator in one Company.
Kripakar’s mother , Mrs. Saroja not only dedicated her life for Kripakar, but also worked hard and taught many special kids at Spandan. Both of them were felicitated on that day.
Ajay was brought to Spandan 10 years back as drop-out, He was rejected from many institutes and parents were running from pillars to post. Finally, they came to Spandan and the Holistic Child Care Centre observed Ajay well. After 6 years of intensive multidisciplinary inputs, Ajay cleared his S.S.C. through N.I.O.S. and took up Vocational Course. Now, we are proud to announce that Ajay is Sports Teacher as well as Computer Teacher, not only in our school, but also with other schools. This young boy prepared wonderful 6 minutes’ Movie on his ammeter. He worked hard day and night for 3 weeks and prepared the Movie, displaying past and present of his school, M.B.Barvalia Founation’s Holistic Child Care Centre and Special School. Everyone was amazed to see the Movie. He was greeted by thunderous claps.
Dr. Barvalia, Founder Chairman rightly quoted Swami Vivekanand and reiterated Spandan’s motto,
“ Every child has divine potential ”.
Mr. Shrinivas from Kurnool, came with Master Savant Swasthik. A small Movie on this young wizard made the audience spellbound. People witnessed Swasthik’s exceptional skills.
Special Skills :
- He can comprehend complex passages. We take S finger to trace along the lines of the passage. He will finish in a few seconds and can pick up answer amidst 12 to 15 variables. He even understands the moral of the story which is not explicitly stated in the stories.
- He reads faster than the time we take to read the newspaper.
- He can understand Upnishadas and answer questions. Passages of John Milton. R.K. Laxman stories etc. when read out to him. he is 95 to 100 percent accurate in providing the answer.
- He can do mathematics upto 20 multiplication and can derive square roots. No teaching is required a minute or two explanation would suffice. We have not explored further.
- He knows Ramayana and Mahabharata. He has only heard once while reading and can remember and answer.
Unusual capabilities which he has, which we can’t understand is his ability to read his mother’s mind. We are glad to announce that Swasthik has recently received a NATIONAL AWARD from Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
Dr. Praful Barvalia, Founder Chairman of the Institute welcome the guests during stage function and heartily congratulated teachers and parents for their Hercules efforts. It was functioning of the team for the spectacular achievement. With immense pleasure, he announced that M.B. Barvalia Foundation’s Spandan Institute has been taken up by Department of Ayush, Government of India for upgradation of Centre of Excellence. Shri. Sudheendra Kulkarni , President of the Function reminded everyone for the social responsibility of the community and its leaders towards the cause. Dr. Tittar, Deputy Director, Homoeopathy, Government of Maharashtra highly appreciated Founder, Dr. Barvalia, its team and congratulated all of them. He appreciated parents for their patience and perseverance. He promised for support and help to the Institute. Guest of Honour – Shri. Manoj Daisaria, Architect, spoke about the crucial need for child care and rehabilitation. Our future rests on our children and hence, it is important to work for our children. He congratulated from bottom of heart to everyone and promised to be at the back and call of the organization. Mr. Keswani and Mrs. Pallavi Patil, wife of young, dynamic member of Parliament, Mr. Sanjay Dina Patil, also gave their best wishes. Various dignitaries like Dr. Petrik Reliant, from France, Mr. Deore-Patil – Community Development Officer, Rajawadi, Mr. James – C.E.O. , Project Crayons and members of various organization, schools graced the occasion. Mr. Srinivas Rao came all the way from Kurnool, to participate in this function. He congratulated the organization and also expressed his insight to take active, immediate and concrete measures for these children, so that their future is not in danger after the demise of their parents, guardians and caretakers.
