April 2nd, 2010 is the World Autism Awareness Day. On this day, all around world, people are committed to spreading information about Autism Spectrum Disorders.
M.B. Barvalia Foundation’s Spandan Holistic Institute celebrated World Autism Awareness Day. Autistic children, their parents, Well wishers, Teachers, Doctors, Therapists and all Supporters were on the streets of Ghatkopar and conducted a Rally to mobilize masses, to make them aware about Autism and implication of early identification in treatment.
Various dignitaries like, Municipal Consellor and Member-B.E.S.T. Committee, Mr. Suresh Golatkar, eminent Journalists, Social activists and past Joint Secretary from Prime Minister’s office, Shri Sudhindra Kulkarni participated in the Rally.
Rally started from Spandan’s Advanced School of Autism near Pant Nagar Police Station and moved in the interior of Ghatkopar, like, Naidu Colony, Pant Nagar, 90 ft. Road, 60 ft. Road, Garodia Nagar and ended at Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar.
Seminar was conducted there at – Shahid Smarak Sabhagriha, where various experts dealt with the issues of Autism, its causes, silent symptoms, importance of early identification and role of various therapies in the management.
The event was conducted by Dr. Praful Barvalia, Founder, Trustee of the Institute and his entire team. He stated : “There is a phenomenal increase in the incidents of Autism all over the world. As per the latest survey, 1 out of 150 children are suffering from Autism. Hence, it is our social responsibility to increase awareness about Autism and to improve resources in the management of Autistic children. M.B. Barvalia Foundation’s Spandan Holistic Institute makes humble efforts in this direction.
Every child has great potential. It is obligatory on the part of society to work for their inclusion, said Shri. Sudheendra Kulkarni.
Mr. Maulik Mavani from Research Observer Foundation also grace the occasion. Mr. Harik Gosar , Mr. Sanjay Joshi, Mr. Anil Barvalia, Ms. Prachi Barvalia, Mr. Hasmukh Barvalia, Ms. Monali Gosar actively participated in the entire event. Dr. Arundhati, Dr. Santosh, Dr. Manasi, Dr. Bishnoo, Dr. Tripti, Social Worker Dada Sargar, Occupational Therapist Dr. Khyati Sanghvi, Special Educators – Mrs. Kinjal, Mrs. Sudha Shetty, Mrs. Namrata, under guidance of Administrator Dr. Varshaben Shah actively participated. Awareness is prerequisite for any cure. We strongly believe in spreading awareness and empowering people to deal with this malasise .
Hence, Spandan conducted seminars for main stream schools and community for the entire week.
